About Customize Folder
###
"Customize Folder" is a small Windows XP application
that allows the user to
customize its folders the
way he likes it:
change the icon, the background image,
the text
color or even the folder description. But the real
value of this application
resides in the many options available!

How to install?
###
Copy the customize.exe to any place of your hard
drive (for instance to
c:\Program Files\Customize
Folder\)
Run customize Folder by double clicking
the
customize.exe file.
Warning!: it is necessary to have administrator
rights in order to install this
application. To run
it, it is only necessary to have write access in the folder to
be customized.
The first time you run the application, it will save
all the chosen configurations
in an ini file in the
same directory

How to run Customize Folder?
###
"Customize Folder" is accessed in the Explorer
context menu (by clicking the
mouse right button on
any folder in Explorer),
and then select "Customize Folder"

How to uninstall?
###
An advanced uninstaller is not yet developed, but you
can still run the
uninstall.reg available with the
customize.exe file.
You'll also have to remove
the files manually.

-Click the preview image to view it full-size
-Browse through each folder in full-size view by
using the mouse wheel;
click to select the current
image
-The full-view view presents the image in tile mode,
just like Explorer will
(useful for small images)
-Settings
-Set the default folders for Icon and Image browsing
(so you won't
have to do the same browsing endless
times)
-Change the System Wide Icon Size (WARNING: this is
an advanced
feature, and only experienced users
should play around
with these; it
is not perfect yet!)
-Choose which Quick Icons appear in the Main Window
-Possibility to have any of the Quick Icons to
appear in the Explorer
Context Menu with whatever
caption
you wish
(WARNING: remove all Quick Icons from
Context menu before uninstalling!)
-Reload default Settings
Other features

-Change the folder description (the text that
appears in Explorer when you
select the folder)
-Change the text color (useful if the background
image color is dark)
-Possibility to backup current configuration
-Include subfolders, to customize all the subfolders
in the chosen folder.
-Refresh button, to reload current configuration
-Clear all button, to remove the configuration
-Restore backup button
-Edit desktop.ini (the file where the folder
customizing configuration is written)
-Help system (not yet implemented)

-A proper installer/uninstaller
-Remove desktop.ini when the file is empty
-Remove memory leaks (they are already identified)
-Choose Icon preview size in the Icon Selection
